What is psychogeriatric care?
Psychogeriatrics is a specialised field of psychiatry for older people, also known as geriatric psychiatry or psychiatry of old age.
Psychiatric symptoms may occur in older adults experiencing depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorder, cognitive disorders (including dementia), medical conditions (such as Parkinsons Disease), and grief and loss, among other presentations.
Dr Renzenbrink is skilled and experienced in navigating the complex interplay of changes in physical, cognitive (memory and thinking), psychological, emotional and social domains that may occur in old age. She uses a holistic and recovery-oriented approach to treatment, collaborating with patients and, where relevant, their families and other supports, to develop treatment plans that encompass physical, psychological and social wellbeing.

If your referral is accepted, administrative staff will contact you to book an initial consultation with Dr Renzenbrink in her clinic. Unfortunately Dr Renzenbrink is not able to offer consultations in residential aged care facilities, but is able to see residents of those facilities in the clinic.
With a valid referral from your GP, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate for each appointment. Private (gap) fees also apply, and you may qualify for additional Medicare rebates if you reach the Medicare Safety Net within a calendar year.
