Mid North Coast Mind Health is an outpatient specialist psychiatry service located in Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of NSW. We are currently accepting referrals.
We offer two distinct, subspecialist services:
Specialised assessment and treatment of mental health and cognitive issues in older adults, aged 65 and above
Talking therapy informed by psychodynamic and psychoanalytic principles, for adults aged 18 and above
We do not currently provide general psychiatry services to adults aged under 65, child & adolescent psychiatry services, or ADHD assessment and treatment.
Mid North Coast Mind Health is a private practice and does not offer bulk-billing. A deposit is taken to secure an appointment, and payment of the remaining balance is required on the day. Most appointments are eligible for a Medicare rebate, and a private (‘gap’) fee is also applied. More information about fees is available from our administrative staff.
Telehealth consultations are not available for new patients, though may be considered for existing patients.
Mid North Coast Mind Health is not able to provide urgent care to patients in crisis or after-hours support.

Dr Melissa Renzenbrink
Old Age and General Adult Psychiatrist

Dr Renzenbrink is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), with a subspecialty qualification in Psychiatry of Old Age.
Dr Renzenbrink completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of New South Wales, and her internship and residency at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. She undertook her specialist psychiatry training at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals in Sydney, and was awarded the RANZCP Maddison Medallion for meritorious performance during training and the RANZCP Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age Psychiatric Trainee Prize for Scholarly Project. As a consultant psychiatrist, Dr Renzenbrink previously worked with psychogeriatric and general adult mental health services within the Sydney and Mid North Coast Local Health Districts.
Dr Renzenbrink has an interest in psychological approaches to treatment and is currently undertaking advanced training in Psychotherapies with the RANZCP. She also has a passion for medical education, and teaches psychiatry to medical students at the University of New South Wales and to psychiatry trainees at the NSW Health Education & Training Institute.
Dr Renzenbrink has a holistic and recovery-oriented approach to treatment. She aims to collaborate with patients and, where relevant, their families and other supports, to develop treatment plans that encompass physical, psychological and social wellbeing. She enjoys working with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Dr Renzenbrink is currently accepting referrals for the psychogeriatric service and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
